General Instructions

20 minutes20 questions+4 correct−1 wrong

Total duration of the examination is 20 minutes.
The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself — you will not be required to end or submit your examination.
The Questions Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using one of the following symbols:
You have not visited the question yet.
You have not answered the question.
You have answered the question.
You have NOT answered the question, but have marked the question for review.
✓You have answered the question, but marked it for review.
The Marked for Review status for a question simply indicates that you would like to look at that question again. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, your answer for that question will be considered in the evaluation.
You can click on the arrow beside the question palette to collapse it and maximise the question window; click it again to reopen the palette.
Navigating to a Question:
1. Click on the question number in the Question Palette to go to that question directly. Note that using this option does NOT save your answer to the current question.
2. Click on Save & Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
3. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.
Answering a Question:
1. Choose one answer by clicking on the button of one of the options.
2. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the Clear Response button.
3. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option.
4. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button.
Marking scheme: each correct answer is awarded +4 marks; each incorrect answer is awarded −1 mark; unanswered questions are given no marks.
Navigating through sections:
1. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section you are currently viewing is highlighted.
2. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section.
3. You can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination as per your convenience, only during the time stipulated.
All questions will appear in your default language. The View in selector above the question shows the language of the paper.
Use only the mouse to select and change your answers, exactly as in the real exam.
Simulator rule (not part of the NTA screen): do not switch tabs, minimise the window or exit full-screen during the test — such events are recorded with the attempt.
20 questions in four sections (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology), 20 minutes.
Each correct answer +4, each wrong answer −1, unattempted 0.
Botany and Zoology are real NEET previous-year questions; Physics and Chemistry are NEET-level practice questions.
As in the real exam, an answer is saved only when you press SAVE & NEXT.
