International College Spain — Madrid, Spain
School type: IB Continuum School · IB Programmes: PYP, MYP, DP · Live coaching in CET (Central Europe)
International College Spain (ICS) is an English-medium international school in La Moraleja, Alcobendas, in affluent north Madrid, founded in 1980 and part of Nord Anglia Education since 2014. It serves around 1,000 students aged 3 to 18 from more than 70 nationalities.
ICS runs the full IB continuum — PYP (from 1999), MYP (from 1995) and the IB Diploma (from 1980) — and says it was only the 13th school in the world to offer the IB Diploma, and the only school in Madrid teaching the IB in English from age 3 to 18.
In 2025 the IB Diploma cohort averaged 35.5 points — about five points above the global average — with 20% scoring 40 or more and one student achieving a perfect 45. DP students choose a subject from the Sciences group, supported by the school’s science laboratories.
For ICS families, specialist IB Biology coaching reinforces HL depth and the Paper 1 / Paper 2 mark scheme and supports the IA. Our 1:1 sessions run in CET around the school day and align to the school’s DP calendar.
Sourced from publicly available rankings, the school's own annual diploma results communications, and the IB Organization's programme authorisations.
ICS’s 2025 IB Diploma cohort averaged 35.5 points — about five points above the global average — with 20% scoring 40+ and one student achieving a perfect 45.
ICS lists graduate placements at universities including Cambridge, Oxford, UCL, King’s College London, Harvard, MIT, Columbia and Johns Hopkins, as well as Spanish universities such as Autónoma, Carlos III and Complutense. IB Biology supports the school’s medicine and life-sciences pathways.
ICS runs the IB Diploma as the capstone of its PYP–MYP–DP continuum, toward the Northern-Hemisphere May exam session. We schedule live 1:1 sessions in CET around the school day, align IA mentorship to the school’s internal deadlines, and drill the IB Biology Paper 1 / Paper 2 mark schemes with past-paper data-response practice.
