St. Paul's School, São Paulo — São Paulo, Brazil
School type: IB Diploma Programme · IB Programmes: DP · Live coaching in BRT (Brazil)
St. Paul's School is a British international school in the Jardins district of São Paulo, founded in 1926 and governed by the not-for-profit Fundação Anglo-Brasileira de Educação e Cultura (FABEC). It celebrated its centenary in 2026 and is a member of the Headmasters' & Headmistresses' Conference (HMC) and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).
The school is distinctively Anglo-Brazilian, teaching a curriculum that blends the British and Brazilian systems, with Portuguese compulsory throughout. Students take Cambridge IGCSEs in the middle years and then the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form; the school awarded its first IB Diplomas in 1987. In 2012 it became the first British school in Latin America accredited under the UK government’s British Schools Overseas scheme.
IB Biology is offered among the Sixth-Form sciences (alongside Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Systems & Societies). The 2023–24 IB cohort recorded a 100% pass rate and an average of 35.4 points — about five points above the global average — with 18 students scoring 40 or more out of 45.
St Paul's families typically use the IB for entry to universities overseas. The two gaps that drive specialist Biology coaching are Paper 1 / Paper 2 mark-scheme calibration and IA mentorship; our 1:1 sessions run in BRT around the school day and align to the school’s IGCSE-to-IB progression.
Sourced from publicly available rankings, the school's own annual diploma results communications, and the IB Organization's programme authorisations.
St Paul's reported a 100% IB pass rate and a 35.4-point average for its 2023–24 cohort — about five points above the global mean — with 18 students scoring 40 or more out of 45.
St Paul's leavers go predominantly to North American universities (about half) and the UK (around 10%), with the remainder to Brazil and elsewhere. Recent UK destinations include Cambridge, UCL and LSE; US destinations include Harvard, Yale and Columbia. IB Biology supports the school’s strong medicine and life-sciences pathway.
St Paul's runs the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form after Cambridge IGCSEs, toward the Northern-Hemisphere IB May exam session. We schedule live 1:1 sessions in BRT around the school day, align IA mentorship to the school’s internal deadlines, and drill the IB Biology Paper 1 / Paper 2 mark schemes with past-paper data-response practice.
