IGCSE Biology, Delhi · live online
Cambridge 0610 and Edexcel 4BI1, taught to the syllabus statement and marked to the scheme, by an AIIMS alumnus. Live online in IST evening and weekend slots, one-to-one or in a small group, every session recorded.
IGCSE biology is marked by people who have never met the student, against a scheme that credits specific words in a specific order. A Delhi student who understands osmosis perfectly and writes “water moves to where there is less water” scores nothing; the scheme wants the partially permeable membrane, the water potential gradient and the direction. The gap between knowing and scoring is where most IGCSE marks in Delhi are lost.
The second gap is the practical paper. Delhi's Cambridge schools are small and their laboratory time is short, so the alternative-to-practical paper, a fifth of the grade, is often the one nobody has rehearsed: apparatus drawn from memory, variables left uncontrolled, a graph without a line of best fit.
The tuition is built around both gaps. Each topic is taught, then written as the examiner wants it and marked against the official scheme; each practical in the syllabus is worked through past questions until the method is automatic. Lessons are live online, one-to-one or in a small group, with the recording kept for revision.
Paper 1 or 2 (multiple choice, Core or Extended), Paper 3 or 4 (theory, Core or Extended), and Paper 5 (practical) or Paper 6 (alternative to practical).
June and November series.
Extended is the route to A grades and to A-Level or IB HL afterwards. Most Delhi schools enter Extended; confirm which papers the school has entered.
Paper 1 (61% of the marks) and Paper 2 (39%), both written, with practical skills examined inside the papers. Grades 9 to 1.
January and June series.
The January sitting is the one Delhi students use to resit a single paper without losing a year.
Live online, in IST evening and weekend slots, so a student in Chanakyapuri, Vasant Vihar, Gurugram or Noida joins the same small group without a drive across the city. Sessions are recorded. The same timetable serves the many IGCSE families who split the year between Delhi and abroad and need the sitting kept on track from wherever they are.
Our IGCSE students come from The British School in Chanakyapuri and from the Cambridge and Edexcel schools across Gurugram and Noida. We have no affiliation with any school.
Biology is taught by Dr. Shekhar C. Singh, AIIMS New Delhi alumnus, who also teaches the IB, A-Level and NEET programmes the IGCSE year leads into. A family that wants to meet him in person is welcome at the South Extension centre by appointment.
Tell us the board and the exam series. A counsellor calls the same day to fix a live online demo.
Both the Cambridge 0610 syllabus (Core and Extended) and the Edexcel International GCSE 4BI1 syllabus. The content overlaps heavily; the papers do not. The tuition follows the exact syllabus statement and the past papers of the board the student is entered for.
Live online only, in IST evening and weekend slots, like all our IGCSE, IB, A-Level and AP teaching. That is how one AIIMS-trained teacher works with Cambridge and Edexcel students across Delhi, NCR and abroad in the same small group. Our South Extension centre runs the NEET, board and olympiad classrooms; a family is welcome to meet the faculty there by appointment.
Either. Delhi IGCSE students are few enough that most take one-to-one or two-to-one tuition, scheduled around the school day. Small groups form when several students from the same school and year sit the same series. Every session is recorded for revision.
Cambridge Paper 6 (alternative to practical) and the practical questions inside the Edexcel papers are taught as a skill: reading apparatus diagrams, planning a fair test, drawing and labelling to the mark scheme, handling results tables and graphs. Every required practical in the syllabus is covered through past questions and the official mark schemes.
Yes, and it is a common Delhi path. IGCSE biology is broad and conceptual; CBSE Class 11 and NEET are NCERT-specific and recall-heavy. The tuition keeps the IGCSE grade on track and, in the final term, bridges to the NCERT chapters so the student does not start Class 11 behind classmates who have done CBSE since Class 9. The Class 11 Delhi page describes that year, which does run as a classroom batch at South Extension.
IGCSE Extended is the right base for both. Students continuing to IB HL or SL move to the IB Delhi programme; those continuing to CAIE or Edexcel A-Level move to the A-Level Delhi NCR programme. Both are taught live online by the same faculty, so nothing is relearned.
Fees depend on one-to-one or group and on the number of hours a week; the fee page has the current table and a counsellor will quote for the exact plan. A free demo lesson comes first.
