You need to qualify NEET, not top it. Here is the qualifying mark for your category, the NMC rules your Kazakh degree has to meet, and how to make sure you clear the line.
To study MBBS in Kazakhstan and practise in India later, you must reach the NEET qualifying percentile for your category. In NEET 2025 those marks were:
| Category | Percentile | Qualifying mark (of 720) |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50th | 144 |
| OBC, SC, ST | 40th | 113 |
The mark is fixed by percentile after each exam, so it moves every year. Plan for a comfortable margin above it, not the exact number.
NMC’s Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021 make a qualifying NEET score a condition for an Indian student’s foreign MBBS to count in India. The Supreme Court has upheld the rule.
The degree must run for at least 54 months, be taught in English, and include a 12-month internship at the same university. Check this with the university in writing before you pay.
Lectures may be in English, but patients in Kazakhstan speak Kazakh and Russian. Expect to learn it for your clinical years.
To practise in India you must pass the FMGE (to be replaced by NExT). In the December 2025 session 23.94% of all candidates passed, and 29.33% of graduates from Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan sits between Kyrgyzstan and Russia on cost, with FMGE results close to Russia’s in the December 2025 session.
Rules and recognised universities change. Check the latest NMC notices before you choose a university or pay a fee.
Biology is 360 of NEET’s 720 marks, and almost every question comes from NCERT. That makes it the most dependable half of the paper for a student whose goal is to qualify. A strong Biology score on its own puts you close to the qualifying mark.
Live Biology batch for MBBS-abroad students: highest-scoring chapters first, weekly mocks with a cut-off target, recordings of every class.
Send us your latest test score. We will tell you honestly how far you are from the line and what it will take to clear it.
